March 5, 2013 - Robbery at Westfarms Mall

Farmington Police are looking for a suspect who made off with a $40,000 diamond from Michael's Jewelers at Westfarms Mall Tuesday.

Police say the man, posing as a customer, entered the store around noontime, asked to see that specific diamond, then ran off as soon as the clerk handed it to him. Police say he left the mall in a black, four-door Chevy Cruz with Florida license plate N274GA driven by another man.

The suspect was wearing a blue and white shirt with vertical and horizontal stripes, jeans and tan boots. He had large earrings with square clusters of stones in each ear. He's an African American, with a shaved head, about six-feet tall and a thin build. He was wearing glasses.

Anyone with information us asked to call Farmington Police at at (860) 675-2400, or Detective Tracy Enns at (860) 675-2463. Anonymous tips can be left at (860) 675-2483.
