CJA Design Contest

QUALIFICATIONS:
Open to all CJA store members,
associate members and their employees.

RULES OF ENTRY:

1. Pieces must be original designs created by the person entering them.

2. Pieces cannot have been mass produced or previously sold.

3. Pieces must have been produced between January 1st and September 1st of the contest year and cannot have ever won an award.

4. Pieces should be quality stamped but not hallmarked or trademarked until after the judging.

5. Each designer may enter up to three (3) pieces, but each piece must be a different type. Example: only one ring, one pendant, etc.

6. Pieces must be made with either gold, platinum or both.

7. Pieces may contain diamonds, colored stones or both.

8. Materials used for each piece cannot exceed $5,000.00 cost. The cost must be disclosed at the time of entry.

9. Each piece must be accompanied with the entry fee which is
non-refundable.

10. Insurance for each entry will be the sole responsibility of each
entrant.

11. Pieces submitted must be manufactured by the artist.ltems such as
main component parts and chains permanently attached to the jewelry
piece must be made by the artist. Premanufactured hidden findings i.e., hidden bails, brooch findings,earring posts, hidden box clasps and stoneheads can be premade by another manufacturer.

12. Payment for Design Contest must be made at the time of design
submittal at the convention.

ENTRY FEES:
$20.00 for the first piece
$15.00 for each additional piece

TIMETABLE:
All pieces must be hand delivered NO LATER THAN 6 PM at the Day of the Convention. Do not mail pieces.

JUDGING:
The entries will be judged at the Convention.

The pieces will be identified only by number. The winners will be judged based on design, craftsmanship, fashion appeal and marketability.

Display of entries will be at the Convention. Entrants are encouraged to attend. Entrants will be responsible for all items necessary to display their entries.

Entries will remain the property of the person entering them.

All non-winning entries will be returned by registered mail as soon as possible.

CJA reserves the right to keep the winning entries for a period of two months for photographing and promotional use. CJA's liability is limited to the cost of materials.

CATEGORIES:
under $1,000; $1001 to $3,000; over $3,000 cost.

BEST IN SHOW WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR ENTRY IN THE JA DESIGN CONTEST IN NEW YORK.
