A Message from Edward Isenberg, Executive Director
As Executive Director of the Connecticut Jewelers Association, I have been asked to write a synopsis of what the association has accomplished during the past year and what we can look forward to in the future.
Education is of prime importance to the Jeweler today. We must stay abreast of the many changes taking place in the industry. By staying informed we provide our customers with the best possible products and services available
Education is not limited to just the consumer. At CJA, we continue to bring outstanding educational seminars on topics that are important to Jewelers. During the coming year we will continue to bring you new fresh ideas through our educational seminars to help your business prosper and grow.
There are many programs that are available to our member jewelers being offered by JA that you should be taking full advantage of, as they will save you money and increase your sales.
Certification of Bench Jewelers, Management Professionals and Sales Professionals are also important as it will boost consumer confidence in your store.
Legislation on the state and national level is very important to our jewelry industry. CJA continues to monitor the state legislative bills that will have an impact on our industry. We have accomplished a great deal through the years.
In 2007 the state legislature will be in session from January 3rd to June 6th. This is what is known as a long session and there will be thousands of bills to be reviewed.
This is the fifth year of our Desk Top Resource Manual. Our guide book serves as a resource for all our members both retailer and supplier. The guide will help in providing answers to many basic jewelers questions as well as State laws and other important information for the retail trade. This guide will also allow for easier contact information for jewelers to look up suppliers at a glance. Please take the time to say thank you to our advertisers. Without them this resource guide would not be possible. Let them know you appreciate their support of your CJA and buy from them. Its the best way to say Thank You.
Part of my role as Executive Director of CJA is to motivate the CJA Board to accomplish the goals and objectives of the association. At this time I would like to publicly thank all the CJA Board Members for their volunteering to work on the many projects we have developed during the past few years. We must continue to work for the industry and the independent jeweler.
Looking forward to a successful year, Edward Isenberg, Executive Director
