A Message from Sharran Selig-Bennett, President
Dear Members,
This is my first year as president of the Connecticut Jewelers Association. I am looking forward to a banner year with a great deal of accomplishments.
To begin with, this is the fifth year for our Desk Top Resource Manual which is sent out to our member jewelers throughout Connecticut. We hope that you take advantage of the valuable material we have put together in this outstanding publication. We receive phone calls from other state affiliates all over the country asking us if they can use some of the material we have inserted in our resource guide. We hope that the Resource Guide is very useful to you in running your business.
On other association activities:
We are making headway on our new CJA website. We have a lot of items on there already and will be adding more. Your suggestions are always appreciated.
On Jewelers for Children we are probably the only state affiliate that has an official proclamation from their Governor establishing Jewelers for Children Day. In June, I was fortunate to be at the JCK show in Las Vegas and attended the Facets of Hope Dinner that was sponsored by the Jewelers for Children. It was a very impressive evening with a lot of heart rendering stories about children. I would like to get our CJA members more heavily involved in this important activity. CJA members can contribute to JFC through their customers in the battery program or actual canisters program. There is a lot that can be done through their holiday card and ornaments.
Two new activites we are working on
1. We hope you, will be taking advantage of our new discount credit card merchandising plan with First National Merchant Solutions. This will save you a lot of money.
2. We are working on the development of a fine jewelry exhibit for the new Connecticut Science Center being built in Hartford.
Your input is important to us on all these matters.
